REVIEW LORD OF THE RINGS: RETURN OF THE KING

INTRODUCTION

The movie is called "Lord of The Rings: Return of the King" and it is definitely an action. The Lord of The Rings: Return of the King is a 2003 war film directed by Peter Jackson, co-written by Barrie M. Osborne, and Fran Walsh, and starring Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett , John Rhys-Davies, Bernard Hill, Christopher Lee, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Orlando Bloom, Hugo Weaving, Miranda Otto, David Wenham, Brad Dourif, Karl Urban, John Noble, Andy Serkis, Ian Holm, Sean Bean, Lawrence Makoare , Paul Norell, and Marton Csokas.

PLOT

Isengard, which is Saruman's headquarters, has been successfully destroyed. Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, and King Theoden who won the battle at Helm's Deep finally arrived at the place. Still filled with curiosity, that night Pippin secretly grabbed the palantir ball from Gandalf. Pippin immediately grabbed it without thinking and looked so pained. The mission to destroy The One Ring is just one step away, will they succeed in defeating Sauron and saving Middle Earth?

DESCRIPTION

Presents the final confrontation between the forces of good and evil fighting for control of the future of Middle-earth. Hobbits Frodo and Sam reach Mordor in their quest to destroy the `one ring', while Aragorn leads the forces of good against Sauron's evil army at the stone city of Minas Tirith.

ANALYSIS

The lighting is original. The costumes, weapons, armor, props and film sets were very well adapted by the film crew. The special effects for the army of the Dead (oath breakers), Gollum, She lob the spider, mumakil, the eagle, Sauron's Eye, the fell beast and the trolls are amazing and incredible. The battles are spectacular and constantly increase the tension. The tension for the siege in Minas Tirith is highly anticipated. The cast and crew are great. Sir Ian McKellen is perfect in his role as Gandalf the White. Viggo Mortenssen is charismatic in his role as Aragorn. Sean Astin captures Samwise Gamgee perfectly and is able to give the character heart. Andy Serkis gives a disturbing and powerful performance as Smeagol/Gollum

CONCLUSION

Sam gets married to his dream girl at the end of the movie, and Frodo finishes his own conclusion to Bilbo’s book which he titles “The Lord of the Rings”. The movie ends with everything resolved. The ring is destroyed, Sauron is finally defeated and everyone is happy again. Through hours of fighting, trials and pain, the Fellowship finally gets its happy ending. Hip-hip-hooray! Even though “The Return of the King” was 4 hours long, it’s easily the best addition to the series.
