REVIEW CRAZY GLUE

 

SYNOPSIS

    Crazy Glue is a movie about one woman's unique solution to keep something like their relationship to last forever. Even when he feels his life and his relationship are falling apart. With that, they both maintain a relationship by using Glue. 

APPRECIATION

    Glue is first introduced in the title, the second only for the third line of dialogue. Note that it's not just any glue, it's crazy glue, which is known to be strong and resilient. This happens with their marriage, it takes something strong to make a change. At one point, the wife said many things needed to be fixed. She didn't say which, but it was clear from their interactions that it was related to their marriage. 

    She brought a man hanging from the ceiling, depicted on the packaging for the glue, and showed that they put the light fixture on the floor, before taking the usual picture. His wife is not impressed, but then does it herself, as if to prove him wrong.

REVIEW

    Crazy Glue draws niftily upon cartoons and the silent movie tradition. It's also good at showing how love can turn complacent and become tinged with irritation, demonstrating how small battles turn into all-out wars. The show is at its best when it dispenses with its own cute cleverness and allows us to glimpse the petty cruelties and terrible loneliness of relationships.
